Seminole, Texas…when you’re here, you’re home!

Seminole, Texas is a strong vibrant area with a diverse business community that keeps our economy stable. Our economy is driven by oil production, farming and several companies producing light steel fabrication used in constructing shops, buildings and roofing. We have about 6,700 people within the city limits and approximately 20,000 residents county wide. We experience a low unemployment rate due to the availability of jobs within these fields. The crime rate has always been low and continues to stay at a low level.

Other draws to our community are our schools. We have excellent newer buildings with state-of-the-art equipment and laptop computers provided for high school students. Students are encouraged to take concurrent classes in high school where they earn high school and college credit simultaneously. These students are able to accumulate 12-50 hours of college credit while in high school. We have a marching band, choir, and a fine arts department that’s won state and national awards. Our athletic program includes football, baseball, softball, tennis, swimming and track and field. Most sports begin in the 7th grade.

We also have a beautiful 18 hole golf course right here at Gaines County. We are about 3 hours from snow skiing in Ruidosa, NM, there are sand hills about 2 hours away for dirt bikes and four wheelers, hiking and mountain climbing in the Big Bend Area and about 3 hours to fishing and boating.

Come take a look and discover for yourself. Seminole Texas… When You’re Here You’re Home!
